How to Stay Organized

Organization plays a huge role in a successful life and routine. Becoming more organized and incorporating more organizational-oriented habits in your life will pay off. Staying organized above all can reduce stress and can allow you to have a clearer focus. Whether this is cleaning up your room, or mapping out your day, it can play a vital part of your success level throughout the day and week to come. Remaining organized leads to increased productivity levels, and who doesn't want that?

Agenda: This first tip is an important one. Keep an agenda, and keep it close. Did you know that writing things out fosters a sense of progress which in turn results in increased productivity?

Keeping a physical agenda is so important, especially when planning out tasks, appointments, etc. as your brain engages more, and thus you are encouraged to remember. Whether you are a student, worker, or both, chances are you cannot keep track of all your different demands off the top of your head. If you can, you might have a super power and you should stop reading this. Not writing things down can lead to feeling overwhelmed and feeling more stressed than the actual tasks themselves. We all know the feelings that are associated with the dreadful Sunday scaries but formatting your schedule appropriately can certainly help! Once things are on paper, you can get a clearer view on what steps you need to take to cross off your duties.

Favorite Products: You will be more likely to be productive when you like your external environment, as well as the products you use.

For this reason, the next tip is to use/find your favorite products to encourage yourself to stick with your newfound passion for organization! Aesthetic binders, pens, cleaning supplies, you name it, if it pleases you, you will be that much more excited to get organized! This also can trick your brain to associate getting organized as a good time! Click on the link below to find some of your new favorite products.

Budgeting: A lot of people forget about this aspect of organization, when it is actually the most critical.

Another huge key piece of organizing that goes hand in hand with the tips above but is a little more specific is budgeting! In order to reach maximum organization, you have to situate those bank statements and define a budget for yourself. A good app to use is Mint. Not only is it easy to navigate, but it is also a really great way to view and understand financial summaries as it maps out exactly what you are spending your money on. You would be shocked at how much money you spend on certain things. We all like saving money so get organized!

Task Management Software: Digital organization is important too.

Keeping an agenda handy is great for staying organized and on top of things in general, but also utilizing a task management software is great for breaking up and determining specific tasks you have on your list to conquer. Asana and Notion are perfect for this, they are real game changers when it comes to keeping organized digitally. You can plan long-term this way too, and really break things down. A nice bonus of Notion is that if you get good at it, you can make your pages extremely personal and aesthetic. Again, this makes things easier and more encouraging to remain consistent!

Time Blocking: Time management is super important when it comes to organization.

This final tip is another big one, the time management technique of time blocking! Dedicate specific blocks or chunks of your day to specific tasks to help break things down, and make your to-dos more manageable and less stressful. This is also a great method for sticking in rest or relaxation times too, to avoid inevitable burnouts. Your chances of completing something and completing it well is increased significantly with this tactic.

Staying organized can seem trying for some but it is a very powerful skill to have and the good news is that it's learnable and achievable even if you are naturally not an organized person! Start with these tips and stay consistent, your life will feel like it’s in order in no time.
