How to Build an Aesthetic IG Feed
Do you ever just see an Instagram feed and think, how do they do that? Where do they have the time to do that? And, why doesn’t mine look like that? I still feel that way sometimes but try not to compare your digital life to others, let’s dive into how you can make your feed look unique and cool too but in your own way.
COLOR SELECTION
Believe it or not, a cool feed has a lot to do with colors. Even the outfits you are wearing in your photos play a part. So if you are super fun and colorful, the clothes you wear and the photos you take should match that. Use bright, vibrant colors that reflect your personality. On the other hand, if you are a more neutral person, then your feed will naturally reflect that more muted aesthetic. Stick to a color palette of neutrals like black, white, gray, and beige. These colors create a clean, cohesive look. Keep colors in mind when creating your feed. Consider how the colors in your photos work together. Having a consistent color scheme, whether bright and bold or soft and neutral, will give your feed a polished, curated look. Pay attention to the colors in your outfits, backgrounds, decor, and editing to make sure everything flows nicely together.
LOOK AT THE BIGGER PICTURE
Before you go posting and hoping that everything looks good together, use your resources. Planning your feed makes a huge difference and sets your aesthetic up for success. My favorite app I use for this is called “InPreview” available on the app store. It connects right to your feed so you can edit and move images around how you please.
LOOK FOR INSPIRATION
Look, if you have time to compare your digital life to others, you have time to find accounts that inspire you. Take a look into their photos, what are they sharing? Do they use a camera? Do you know how they edit their pictures? Use their photos for inspiration. Throw them on your grid and recreate it in your own personalized way. There are tons of content ideas and sometimes it can be overwhelming, niche down to who inspires you most while staying true to yourself.
DON’T BE AFRAID TO POST
This is a hot take but in my opinion, every post doesn’t have to be of large substance. If you care about aesthetics, then you need to get used to posting photos that might not get a lot of engagement. Don’t be afraid to be creative and share what you want to with the world, if you care what other people think, it will be very hard for you to create a cool feed. ;)
Those are my tips for creating a feed worth showing off. Choose your color palette wisely, use your resources, and post away! You are one step closer to becoming cool online. But remember, don’t take it too seriously and understand it takes time. If you keep that in mind, you will be successful.
