Butter Yellow & How to Style

This sunny, almost creamy tone has been popping up everywhere, from the runways of Paris to the pages of top interior design magazines. As we come to an end of Summer, butter yellow feels like the perfect color to seamlessly transition from Summer to Fall. It's a softer, more mellow take on classic sunny yellow that works surprisingly well as a neutral, complementing a variety of other colors. If you're looking to incorporate more butter yellow into your life, - this adaptable hue is incredibly easy to style, whether you want to go all-in with a bold statement piece or simply add touches of it here and there. Read along to see how you can incorporate this trending color into your wardrobe.

Butter Yellow Blazers

One of the easiest ways to incorporate the butter yellow trend into your wardrobe is with a classic blazer in this hue. The key to making it work is to treat the blazer as a neutral - pair it with a simple white tee and blue jeans for a casual-cool vibe, or layer it over a floral dress for a feminine, summertime look. Alternatively, you can lean into the blazer's color by pairing it with other warm tones like terracotta, mustard, or auburn to channel FALL. Just be sure to balance out the brightness with more muted shades to keep the overall outfit from feeling overwhelming. With its ability to seamlessly transition from the office to the weekend, a butter yellow blazer is the perfect way to wear this color. For this look I opted for black and yellow to really make the blazer pop.

Butter Yellow Blouses

For a softer, more elegant take on butter yellow, look no further than a gorgeous blouse. A butter yellow blouse has a way of instantly imbuing an outfit with a sense of warmth and femininity. The key to making it work is to dress it up. Pair it with cream slacks and add a pop of color to your shoes, maroon red matches so well. Or, pair the blouse with a flowy, knee-length skirt in a complementary shade like sage green or dusty rose for a breezy, summertime ensemble. It's the perfect and easiest way to incorporate this trendy color into your wardrobe in a delicate, sophisticated way. This outfit with a claw clip up-do would look so chic!

Butter Yellow Tanks

For my year-round warm climate girls, this one is for you. Luckily this muted yellow color pairs well with blue and would look so good with the model off-duty boxers. In the sunlight, the muted yellow takes on a beautiful, natural glow without feeling overpowering or adding extra heat. This makes it a practical and stylish option for staying cool and comfortable if you live in Miami like me but still want to add this color to your closet!

Butter Yellow Button-up

Now although this color deserves to be the star of the show, you can also practice layering with it. Opt for a grey or brown knit sweater over a butter yellow button-up for a more subtle approach. I have not been able to get the Acne Studios scarf out of my head for the Fall and it would compliment this color SO WELL. Add some light washed jeans and brown leather boots and you might have the best outfit this Fall.
